[MCR] interior condiotions, Monashees

Some obsevations from the monashees near revelstoke

sun crust on solar aspects to alpine, settled pow on N asp - temp
crust below 1900 m N asp. Wind affect forming hard slab at ridge top
from SE flow. 0224 surface hoar not reactive in low angle slopes skied
- cracking only between tracks. Feb 8 surface hoar (down 60 cm) and
Jan 24 surface hoar (down 75 cm) are still reactive / propagative and
numerous whumphs.

Propagation across the sol nation - skier reactivity continues on 0208
/ 0124 SH to size 2. Skier skiing 15deg gully feature whoomfed slope
and remote triggered a slope 50m away. Slide was a size 2 on jan 24
(0124) surface hoar layer ranging from 50cm to 120cm deep. 120m wide
running 50m down slope ranging from 20 to 30 degrees in steepness.
Pulled back into 5 deg terrain above slope. Full slope slide wall to
wall. Did not hit tracks where we were skiing. Slide sympatheticly
released 5 more up to 300m away to size 2 in non connected gullied
terrain.

Our motto right now is AVOID ALL AVALANCHE TERRAIN and use extreme
caution on non avalanche terrain.
